Access Your Gear from the Top or the Rear!

The FourXDoctor Storage System allows you to keep all your gear in the location where your rear seat would normally be.  It allows access through the rear tailgate, as well as through the top via two lockable hinged doors.  Installation was relatively simple and straight-forward.  A brief synopsis is included below:

INSTRUCTIONS
First step is to clear out the rear tailgate.  Remove the seat, and all seatbelt hardware.  If you plan on occasionally re-installing your rear seat, leave this gear intact.  This install guide shows how do to so with all hardware remaining (as seen in the picture).
Remove the rear seat bracket bolt.  This is where the front portion of the storage box will be affixed.
Affix the front portion of the storage box.
You will have to drill a hole on each side of your tailgate in order to affix the rear portion of the box to your Jeep.
Carefully select the location of these holes.  With the box in place, and the front portion affixed to the floor, position the box so that it has a small gap against the tailgate (in it's closed position).  Mark where the holes should be drilled, and have at it.
Also be careful to check the OPPOSITE side of where you're drilling.  The brackets here are from an after-market rack, and there are matching brackets on the inside.  You will have similar stock brackets behind this panel, so be careful that you will have room to fit a nut.  Also do not put the holes up too close to the top, as the nut won't fit on the backside.
This is the inside of the driver-side quarter panel where the hole was drilled.  Even thought the picture is a bit fuzzy, you can see the internal brackets and the new bolt for the storage box.  It's a little bit too close to the edge of the bracket, but not enough to stop from tightening it down.
You may need to put some washers between the box and tub for clearance purposes.
The next few pictures are of the finished product!  It's that simple!

SUMMARY

This was a VERY simple installation.  I've had the product in use for over a year now, and I'm very happy with it.  There are some things that I would like to point out about it:

The box is NOT water proof.  If you live in a climate where this is an issue and you do not have vehicle coverage (a top, garage, tarp, whatever), the gear inside your box will most likely get wet.  Most of the gear I store is in sealed military cans, so that's not a concern for me.  Take it into consideration, however, if it is for you.

As well, the piano hinges for the doors need to be lubricated somewhat regularly.  My vehicle sits outside, in the salt air by the beach every day...and is probably the worst abuse you can give it.  The hinges occasionally bind on me when I haven't done anything with them over 6 months or so.  A little lube and working them back and forth loosens them up nicely.

Overall, a product I have been very happy with over the past year.  I carry an awful lot of gear in my vehicle so it's nice to know it's locked and isn't going to come flying out at me if I get in a precarious situation!
