JROCC Boulder Bash
And the winner is:
Kerry missed 3rd place by a whopping 10 points. If only we had pulled up and just started either of the last 2 obstacles, the difference in timing out with 40 points, versus a DNF score of 50 points would have done it. We were definitely on pace for the top spot when our brains shut down and we decided to back into Triple Winch. First off, a special thanks to the people in the town of Jellico, TN for supporting our Jeeping addiction. Including Clear Fork Mining Company, land owner of the JROCC area, for the use of the land and to Gregory's Restaurant in downtown Jellico for hosting dinner after the event. The first ever rock crawling competition at JROCC was a huge success. We all had a great time, learned a lot about how to compete, how to run a competition, and what weaknesses the rigs had. A big thanks to Tim Rettig and Chad Adams for running the event, and to all of the volunteers who judged, assisted, and have helped build the trails at JROCC. Next year they are planning to put on 4 competitions, and will probably have a much larger turnout for them! The next competition at JROCC will be on
April 20th, 2002. Be sure to watch the JROCC
website for details!
