Bud Boren was hatched out at Mercy Hospital in San Diego California in 1944, 9 lbs 9 oz.  As he claims, way back when men were still men.  As a youth, he attended Alexander Hamilton grade school (back when that's what they called them.)  Next was on to Wilson Junior High, where they were excited to pass him on to Hoover High after his rambunctious stay there!  Apparently, Bud had his own perception of how the school should be run.  Bud then moved on to a 4-year junior college as an apprentice carpenter.  He ended up taking the 6-year plan after numerous bootings from the facility.  Apparently you had to belong to a union, where they make you swear by oath that you're not a communist but run the union as if they were.  You might have noticed that Bud's not exactly one for taking well to authority!  After numerous fights and police shake-downs at the union hall, Bud finally graduated and was anointed a full-fledged Journeyman, acquiring his contractors license in 1976.  He now claims to own a facility for the mentally disabled, but we often wonder if he doesn't just live there.

Bud claims his first off-road vehicle was a 1940 Dodge timing chain that could do the 'Con if his baby knee pads wouldn't wear out.  When he turned 16, he had a 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible that had numerous repairs made to the frame and shocks due to off-road excursions with it.  Next in line was a 1958 Ford Ranchero and a 1954 Hudson Hornet that suffered the same fate as the '57.  There were apparently others, as he claims that four-wheeling was the only way to get to your favorite hunting or fishing hole back then.

Three years and numerous vehicles later it dawned on him that he should buy a four-wheel-drive vehicle!  A shiny fire-engine red 1964 Jeep Gladiator that he wishes he still had today.  Owned a '76 IH Scout for a while, but kept falling apart on him so he bought a brand-new 1980 CJ-5 (304, T-176, D-300).  He held on to the '5 for 11 years before it burned to the ground in his driveway after installing a new gauge.  The heart and guts of it still live on in his son-in-laws '78 CJ-5 (Yes, Bud procreated somewhere in between all this).  He's now the proud owner of a 1984 CJ-7 he bought in 1991.  It no longer resembles it's former self!

Bud resides not 2 miles from where he was born, and has lived in and around San Diego from the beach to the mountains in almost every small surrounding city within 10 miles of downtown.  His days are spent as a worthless bum polishing his Jeep and adding useless modifications he really doesn't need, not to mention polluting the web with his rhetoric!  He's an old fart now and still thinks he's 20 so be patient with him!
