got a recipe? start to finish???
finish of them cooking that is!!!
Sure:
Pick the chilies carefully. You want as straight & "dentless" as you can find. Avoid chilies that have blemished skins. Look for a deep green color.
Grill chilies until well charred on all sides (I use a gas grill) & place in a paper bag to steam for 20-30 minutes.
Remove the skins from the chilies.
Cut cheese into 3/16 x 3/16 x 2" pieces. Make a 3/4" lengthwise slit in the chiles close to the stem & stuff them with cheese, taking care to not split them.
Roll the chilies in flour.
Separate 2 eggs. Beat the whites with an electric egg beater set on high until peaks are formed. Beat the egg yolks until smooth. Slowly FOLD the yolks into the egg whites with a rubber spatula until the batter is a uniform yellow color.
Heat 3/4" cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
Put the batter on a large plate, working 2 at a time coat the chilies in the batter & fry in the oil until brown. A slotted flat spatula works best for turning the chilies while frying & removing them. When cooked to a golden brown, remove the chilies from the oil & place on a paper towel to drain.
For the sauce: In a 2-3 qt pot, saute 1/2 medium onion (coarse chop) in 1 tbsp cooking oil until soft. Add (1) 8 oz can of tomato sauce, 2 cups water, 2 cloves diced garlic. Bring heat to near boil & add 1 oz ground pasilla chile powder, 1/2 oz ground New Mexico chile powder & 1 teaspoon sugar. Stir & reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes or so. I use the 1 oz pacakages of ground chile sold in the Mexican food section of the grocery store.
To cook: put a 1/4" or so layer of sauce in a baking pan, add the chilies & put a heavy coating of sauce on top of the chilies. Bake for 30 minutes at 350*.
Optional: sprinke the cooked rellenos with crumbled cotija cheese when serving them.
You can also use Poblano chilies instead of Anaheims, but they are a lot larger & usually filled with a meat mixture.

Road was much closer to railroad tracks in those years because the only bridge across to the town proper was the old army railway bridge. Vehicles took turns crossing the bridge, and pedestrians had their own right of way.

Mary Cox Photographs, 1953-1958
Dogteam pulling jeep
Additional donor notes read: "The jeep got a lot of summer use, even when the engine didn't work. The younger male Point Hopers who had been away from the village were enthusiastic but inexpert drivers. One such, Billy Weber, destroyed the jeep's transmission one day, but, during the time when, for several months, the Coxes were away from Alaska, the older men on the church council -- none of whom had ever driven on a road and most of whom had never driven at all -- ordered a replacement transmission from a mail-order catalog and successfully installed it."

The "Critter Gitter" is hard to process when you first see it. The body is about 11 feet wide and over 30 feet long and is perched upon what is effectively a monster truck frame. While in driving position you sit 11 feet above the ground. Power is from a 600hp Duramax diesel and moved through a 5 speed automatic transmission and custom transfer case to five ton Rockwell axles. It has the terrifying power it needs to move the 64 inch by 32 inch tires it sits on along with the rest of its 13,250 pound frame. And... it comes with a wet bar. nd

F%^&K the greenies! I like my fossil fuel. Ask your local Fireman about the hazards of electric cars. Why do NiCad, NiMH, and L-Ion batteries say not to expose them to water? L=Ion and Fire are a bad combination. The carbon footprint required to make a single electric car is greater then the carbon foot print of two Semi Trucks with over a miliion miles on them.
Don't get me started on those Bunny Huggin' - Red Diaper Doper Babies. F@*#K them all.

was the aborted landing planned? or did things just not work out?
Yes its a planned "go around" or "missed approach", whatever you want to call it. Its part of the test flight checklist we do after a heavy check. The reason is to make sure the auto pilot systems are working properly. I've never sat jump seat before, it was pretty cool to see everything work in the air and how they do it! That picture is from a ERJ-145 flight, the planes in the pics are EMB-170s and 175s!
Hears a couple pictures of some 145s

went wheeling yesterday (i think i wheel a lot) at what i think is probably the best place in new england. these are the only two pictures that were taken of my rig. poser shots for sure. the trail got 23" of snow the saturday before. i couldn't keep air in my front tires. my kmc beadlocks were burping the inner bead all day long. innner air locks will be added for next season.

So there is a 3.5 mile hiking trail that begins with the old mule trail. The mule cart trail is about 2.5 miles. 36 years ago my dad took his 65' cj-5 up the mule trail, we hiked the last mile and camped in the cabins. The mule trail has deteriorated over the years, but I scouted it out for wheeling up it and it's doable in very capable rigs. I'm gonna plan a trip.

YJ Bill (7/8/2011) I would say that is a response to the electric car pic one page back. What does it cost to go a mile in a plug only car in socal? If everyone had them would there be any electricity for our air conditioners?
Those are great questions and not on any of the marketing campaigns for the cars. The cars don't pollute out the tail pipe, but they do use a lot of electricity that is polluting somewhere. If they are charging at night, they are being charged with coal and nuclear power. Those are the base load units that run 24/7. If the owners charge the cars in the peak hours, then we will have a serious problem. You need a permit and to contact the electric company in your home before you plug the sucker in. Most older systems will not support 2-3 electric cars in a neighborhood. Who will pay for the upgrade to the circuit and transformer? Everyone will pay. Not just the person/people that caused the necessity of the upgrade.

Interesting Lamborghini history
The story behind Lamborghini building sports cars is pretty interesting and funny. However, legend has it that the idea came to him after a discussion with Enzo Ferrari, when Ferruccio complained about the noisy gearbox in his new Ferrari. It seems that Ferrari’s reply was simply "You stick to tractors and let me build sports cars.", and that was the point when he decided to build a better car… |

Allen head, all but 2 broke off. I got half of them out with a left hand drill bit. The rest were removed via extractor. The block is aluminum, so there was no room for mistakes. I considered pulling the engine, but did it in the car in the end. Don't put this engine in your jeep, it's a turd.

Here's a quality part from the ultimate driving machine. 2008 BMW 335i water pump with 32,000 miles on it. Yes, it's electric, uses a brushless motor with its own processor to duty cycle it's own internal relay. The plastic shell around the magnets cracked and seized the pump which you can see in the last pic. $700 for the pump + 4 hours labor.

I don't think so, It's Bill Caswells car and they were doing some last minute Baja 1000 prep on the steering, cutting or grinding I don't know, just thought it was a cool pic.

The TA has been driven, it's somewhere under 90kmike100 (6/25/2011) ^^^ [scratching head] I saw both of those cars in Esco on Friday, but I didn't spot anybody who looked like kin to you. Low miles on the SD 455? Looked like it had the orig windshield and everything.

I would say that is a response to the electric car pic one page back. What does it cost to go a mile in a plug only car in socal? If everyone had them would there be any electricity for our air conditioners?
bob91yj (7/8/2011)
Jeepin JD (7/8/2011)
F%^&K the greenies! I like my fossil fuel. Ask your local Fireman about the hazards of electric cars. Why do NiCad, NiMH, and L-Ion batteries say not to expose them to water? L=Ion and Fire are a bad combination. The carbon footprint required to make a single electric car is greater then the carbon foot print of two Semi Trucks with over a miliion miles on them. Don't get me started on those Bunny Huggin' - Red Diaper Doper Babies. F@*#K them all. Are you going to be OK? Post seems kind of out there for this thread.

Quit yo bitchin' boy... this is the first summer we've had all year!
I'm just glad the fawkin' rain stopped My near-farmm-sized-garden has had the worst turn out ever... I should have built a roof over it. Nothing but the zuccini grow in my swamp garden this year Real pissah
LMAO! Alright, I will have to agree with you there... I am happy too that the rain has subsided for the time being.
That's a wicked bummer about your garden though. Hopefully, now with the warmer weather, things will get better!

I haven't been on this site in 3-4 years. For some reason I logged in and was surfing around when I stumble across this gem. If you come across this seriously disturbed individual I would suggest the following... RUN! RUN FASTER THAN YOU HAVE EVER RAN BEFORE!!! DO NOT STOP! DO NOT LOOK BACK! DO NOT ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION (that includes primal grunting and hand gestures). Even if he offers you one of his "Totally Awesome Hats". No matter how much you love hats you must resist your temptations. If for some reason you are not able to get away there is still hope.... GIVE HIM BOOZE!!!!!!!! It doesn't really matter what kind. He will drink beer, liquor, and wine. I would personally recommend shots of JD and ice cold Stone IPA. But the only way for this trick to really work is if you are equally consuming alcohol. If you are as drunk as he is then he is more tolerable. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

So today we're out messing around when we see the heavy lift chopper taken a frame some where So no time for the 100-400mm lens. But by the time we got to where the action was the wind kicked in Then this guy started yelling at us. Get the f*** out of here. Then he took out his camera and starting taken pictures of us. So we snapped back! Looks like you were over near lake Jennings? they are staging Power transmission frames there for a new line from new mexico into San Diego.

Ha! Nothing quite as funny as watching a bunch of little monsters chasing a puck around. Awesome.

The beer house in Munchen....
The Hofbrauhous is awesome. We had a bunch of Jeep peeps out there doing testing (when I worked for Chrysler) and the entire place was singing some song... We attempted to join them, not knowing the words at all, with the best interest of celebration in mind, and were immediately cut off! <laughing>
Apparently we weren't very good singers. Or, maybe the song was about stupid Americans. <grin>
