My guess...someone forgot the retaining clip on their hitch pin but the safety chains did their job when the hitch slid out?

Ok guys here is my vacation story to the high Sierras.

With the wife three dogs and myself packed up in the Moho
and the heep in tow we pulled out from in front of our house
at 2:30 a.m. when twenty feet down the road the heep disconnects!
And now I’m dragging it down the street waking everyone up in
The hood! I get out to find someone has removed the pin from
My hitch ( F*ucking neighborhood brats) and now I’m throwing
crap around my garage like a mad man trying to find another pin!
Now its 3:00 a.m. and we have to try and make it through LA
before rush hour, all goes well until we hit city of Commerce,
yeah right! Holy shit! We have cars spinning out in front of
us semi trucks cutting us off and last minute lane closure!
Christ I really put the moho to the test! So we are now entering
Valencia and I start to hear this intermittent loud flap flap flap
and Darla gives me this concerned look and asks should we
pull over? After a walk around the moho and a look underneath
I can’t find what’s making that noise so I say screw it lets go.
All goes well no noise no nothing until we are half way up the
Grapevine and BAM!! Blow out on the inside tire of the breadbox!
Anyway to make a long story even longer we made it in 12 hours
And even though I was a ball of stress up and back it was well
Worth it.

Ha, classic road trip. Sounds like one of my hellacious trips. [:D] Despite the PITA, they always end up being fun anyway!

I remember having a trip like that...

(nut backing off my ball) +
(chain snapping) =

(hole in the bottom of the boat)

Hope the rest of your trip made up for the headaches. (I had a blown up engine to deal with as well, so mine sucked in every aspect!) [B)] [:D]
