UPDATED 10/21/2012
Scroll down to the bottm for short video of it running.
Well, I have made some progess on Project "INFIDEL", that last few months have seen some fab work, paint work, and lots of online shopping.
Since buying my house last year, I had to figure some crap out and what to do with the JEEP....so I decided to rebuild the CJ5, and fixed some things that needed fixing.
Moved the fuel tank, new floorboards, Durabak on the interior, new paint on everything else, new hardware everywhere, AFI fuel injection, Genrite corners, new dash, new gauges, new wiring, electric fan, moved rear axle back 3" etc, etc. It's almost a ground up rebuild. Bought a bunch of desert marpat fabric, had Aaron at PRP recover my seats, and had a local guy make me a shade cover for the cage I decided to use 36" TSL IROK's, I had my beadlocks powder coated a tan color. The plan is digital marpat paint scheme.

Added more pics...keep scrolling down...
Got the dizzy set up, Throttle body and throttle cable in place, figured out where the sensors go,
PS pump mounted, some wiring estimated, etc.

Still need to fab some brackets for the alternator, but you can see how I
tied in the engine crossmember to the fenders and shock mounts.

Started to fit up fenders, grill, radiator, etc.

I was lazy and didn't fill in the old holes on the fenders. Oh well.
Nothing will be mounted to them now. ALL the electrical will be behind the firewall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------new pics below------------------------------------------------------------------------

The engine wiring is 99% done, just need to hook up the senders to the temp/pressure gauges

Started wiring, and building a cover for the tank and the filler.
The shifter boot is a 930 CV cover the off-road buggy guys use

The 1st color added to the dash, there will be a few more colors mixed in. This is what the entire Jeep will look like.

Magnetic template I created for the pattern. I have a few different ones in large, med, and small patterns.
They wrap around the radius of the body nicely, they can be rotated, and used over and over again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
update-made a little more progress, not quite done with the paint yet, but did finish the dash. Doing this style of pattern has proven to be a PITA!! Trying to do a random pattern is harder than you would think.

Made some prgress on painting the tub and the hood. Probably over 100 hours just to finish it....it's really hard to make shit look random.

Made some more progress on the paint....MAJOR PITA. I probably have over 200 hours into the paint now. Between the warm summer temps, trips to the beach, and some other things I like to do, progress has slowed some.
The paint should be done Saturday, and I can start wiring Sunday....hopefully.

The video prooof that it runs (mostly) and just needs a few tweaks to timing and run some miles on it.
I have some steering box leakage to address this week, and just need to finish some wiring, and a long list of
stuff to put back together.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update 1/12/2013
So after a year of tearing it down and rebuilding it, I finally began the fine detail stuff and pretty much have 99% of everything done.
Ladies and gentleman......I give you...... The Infidel

I'm hunting for a 36" tire that will fit in the basket. Also need to think about a plate frame and lite to.

I still need to paint the stinger, and someday, paint the grill digital.
Windshield is also on the list of things to do. Just about done with tuning the fuel injection
and dialing in the brakes..

The entire Jeep will be painted a light tan/sandy color. The digi pattern will be done in steps, using flexible templates I'm making as paint stencils. It will be all rattle can.
