Can anyone post any pictures they may have of a transmission crossmember from a cj5? I dont think i have the stock one, but cannot find any pictures online of what it should look like. It looks as though the transfer case is just resting on the crossmember i have, and at one point someone cut a hole in the crossmember for a bolt on the transfer case to fit through, so the entire case isnt resing on just this bold.
aslo, if anyone can post pics of their own fabricated transmission mounting solutions, that would be great!

Here's my "fabbed" mount....pretty simple, just a piece of 8" wide C-channel.

What year CJ5? D20 ot D18 transfer case? On an early CJ5, the cross member is a tow piece unit the cross member being one pice and a bolt on skid plate. If you have a D18, (offset axles on both the passenger side), there should be a rubber snubber on the cross member.

Its an 81 cj5. I really like the C-Channel Idea, I think that would make everything a lot easier. Right now i have a skid plate looking kinda thing, with holes that dont entirley match up, i wish i had pictures. My T-case is the d300, offset fornt axle of course, centered rear. The tranny mount is smack in the middle, but i have never scraped it and dont do the wheeling that might scrape it. The single, straight cross member is appealing. anything i should know? - This is only if the wife lets me keep it and get a third jeep... probably not likley, but i have to do something to it in order to make it sellable.

Not really that much to know.  Carefull layout and BIG bolts in the frame.  I lucked out that mine could lay flat onto the frame.  You might have to (doubt it) space it down for tub clearances.
